and we say?

Poll #1719661 jury's still out...

And the verdict is...

ROFL. Organ meat.
Organ meat, yet oddly pretty
Don't be silly, it's perfectly nice.
Pretty until you mention it looks like organ meat then I agree and laugh.

I think it's the bluish-brownish I'm seeing that makes it look that way to me. It was far worse when it was wet, and there's also redder hues inside the yarn that I'm seeing now that kind of help.

Kind of. I'm still amused, though.

But thank you. :D

It's really quite beautiful... *wants*
lotusicelotusice on March 19th, 2011 05:30 pm (UTC)
Hee. This one I'm keeping. You wouldn't want me to sell it anyway, the yarn is like trendy expensive yarn and I'd have to stack my cost onto it and then it'd be ridiculous. Like $40 ridiculous. I can't in good conscience charge that much.

And I'm not sure I can reproduce the mistake but I might give it a whirl with the Norwegian yarn I have. Hmmm... now you've got me thinking.

Thinking is always good. :) Love to work with alpaca. Please share the pics when you use it.

It's pretty on my monitor too... but I can see where it might tend toward healing-bruise. Then again, that's a fun shade... would go nicely with my mostly-black wardrobe *grin*

I'm really enjoying seeing the things you're creating. My mom says she wants to knit me some fingerless gloves - is the yarn you dye the right sort of weight for that? (I know NOTHING)
lotusicelotusice on March 19th, 2011 05:27 pm (UTC)
Yes, it's a perfect weight for fingerless gloves. Socks too. Lucky you!!

Oh yay!!!! how do I choose a color... sigh... I love happy decisions.
lotusicelotusice on March 19th, 2011 06:00 pm (UTC)
LOL whatever color you like best! Wait until everything's up in the shop at the end of the weekend, though.
wandereraerinha on March 19th, 2011 06:23 pm (UTC)
Jumped the gun ;) (I've been eyeing that Styx since the day you put it up)
But if I see something else I like I will get it too!

LOLOL!! I'm so glad that went to a good home.

There will be lots of yarn. Hooray! You'll love it; it's beautiful in person. And the yarn is just delicious. You MUST show us pics of the mitts.

So, I took the Styx over to my mom's today and she LOVES it. She's not entirely sure she wants to make the gloves out of it, but she found it very inspiring. She can't stop rubbing it (so soft). Also I hadn't seen it in sunlight yet... WOW.

Anyhow, yes, very happy customer here! Out of curiosity, are you planning any heavier yarns? If this is a stupid question feel free to educate me <----knitting-illiterate ;)

I can totally see a market for yarn with names like 'healing bruise.' Goth yarn! :)

Purple is my favorite color, all shades of it. So my vote is \o/.

I think if I saw organ meat of this color, I'd toss it in the rubbish pronto.

I'm enjoying your yarn dye adventures. :)
lotusicelotusice on March 19th, 2011 05:28 pm (UTC)
LOLOL about throwing it in the rubbish. Prolly true.

Just wanted to second the suggestion about tossing any organ meat of this colour into the waste bin! :)

To me it looks like a pretty purple/lilac yarn.
Doriandorianegray on March 19th, 2011 06:17 pm (UTC)
Doesn't look like organ meat to me...but also doesn't look like a colour I'd ever want to wear. :-)

I'm going along with the purple/lavender/lilac crowd with an almost metallic sense. It's a lovely accident.

If you want to try that ridiculous lacy cuff pattern in it I think it would look divine with a denim jacket. But we know I'm odd, right?

It's pinkish mauve to me...quite pretty in fact. I'd wear something knitted in that colour.

My mother used to knit all the time, but it wasn't a skill I picked up.
